Posing is your power. The power to communicate confidence, emotion, intrigue and sex appeal. Training and practice is critical. Most starting models think all they have to do is stand in front of the camera and have the photographer tell them what to do and how to pose. Yes if it's a senior photoshoot. But if you are a professional and expect to be viewed as one then you need to have a fantastic repertoire of poses at your disposal at a moments notice in any scenario you are given.

There are many categories of poses based on the type of fashion or photoshoot.

Types; Fashion, High Fashion, Editorial Fashion, Commercial, Fitness, Artistic Nude, Covered/Implied Nude, Boudoir

Editorial Fashion is the highest level of model posing. If you can find someone to train for this (Typically in New York, LA, London or Paris) you will immediately increase your total value as a model.

Editorial Power Poses -Open Positions

A model should often take up far more space with her body. Open positions are wide open arms and legs as wide as you can go! Yes former gymnasts and dancers have an advantage here. It conveys, confidence and power like nothing else in modeling. This isn't about being a 'lady'. That doesn't apply to modeling. This is acting. This is becoming an image of character. Open poses are engaging and alluring like no other poses. Be powerful!
